In an era as such, it is evident that the children are naturally influenced towards the common phase of the current nature. As a matter of fact this has emerged a dispute towards to what extent children are being influenced by the computers in terms of positivity or negativity.

For one using a computer in day to day life, by children has become a common occurrence by the society due to the sheer amount of the advantages derived by it. • Some businesses prohibit smoking in any of their offices. Some governments have banned smoking in all public places. Do you agree or disagree that this is the right course of action. Give reasons for your opinion.

Strong addictions are undeniably the worst case scenario in our societies today. One of the major treats to the human race is the tobacco addition that killed many throughout the past decades and as well as continues to do so in present. However most of the first world governments and authorities have realized the consequences of the high tobacco use among its civilians and taken drastic measures to ban tobacco from modern societies forever. Whilst this is an ongoing progress, some believe these measures are not the right course of actions.

For one recent years Australian government attempted many actions to minimise the tobacco sale by placing hideous pictures of the consequences of smoking on packets of cigarettes. Considerably retailers were forced to cover the cigarettes behind the counter and only a price was allowed to be displayed. Also in many public places, smoking has become banned as well as inside the office buildings. Despite these rigorous attempts, still today people continue to buy cigarettes.

The extents of smokers are so large in societies today, that makes restrictions not viable solution due to the difficulty of escaping the tobacco addiction is immense. Even people aware of the consequences are drawn to the addiction repeatedly. Therefore governments and authorities must take an action to totally ban importing tobacco and classify it as a class “A” drug.

In conclusion, addictions are unrecoverable as long as the sources of the addictions are present and accessible. Therefore the only path for governments to follow would be a total ban, imposing enormous fines for the possessions of a particular banned substance, in this case tobacco, which will eventually results in high demand and low supply that leads to high priced black market tobacco, which wouldn’t be accessible my majority.

  • Advertising is all around us; it is an unavoidable part of everyone’s life. Some people say that advertising is a positive part of our lives while others say it is a negative one. Discuss both views and include your own opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. You should write at least 250 words.

Throughout the history of marketing, advertising has been always a great tool of awareness and influence of a product or a service. It is agreed that the advertising is a key element of marketing and accounts for most of the profits of a company. However some believe that the advertising brings negative influences to the public as it exaggerates the benefits of a product or a service and understate the disadvantages. As a matter of facts it would be greatly viable to assess the both ends of these statements and come to a better comprehension.

For one, advertising plays a critical role of awareness of a product which is yet to be released or already released to the market. This gives the benefit of targeting proper market segments, especially before the release of a product or service. On the other hand consumers who were waiting for such products would be aware of the availability through such marketing campaigns. For an example Pepsi soft drinks brought a new idea of zero calorie, 100% naturally sweetened cola drink called Pepsi NEXT about a week ago. The difference of Pepsi Max and Next is, Next uses natural sweetener called “Stevia”, whilst all the other zero calorie drinks including their own Max uses, artificial cancerous substance called “Aspartame”. As this reflects, investing in an advertising campaign for a new product provides customers with the opportunity to switch to a naturally sweetened cola.

On the other hand advertising has always been carrying out exaggeration of benefits and performances of products and services. An example can be drawn from the same product which is the Pepsi Next. It claims to be sweetened by zero calories, natural sweetener Stevia. However if a person choose to have a thorough inspection of that particular product, it wouldn’t be much difficult to identify that Stevia was used only in lower percentages whereas the rest of the product was sweetened by sugar which is full of calories.
In conclusion it is always safer to have your own investigations of a product or service rather than be amazed by its advertisements and get caught on a hype of exaggerations drawn from the advert itself.
